Transmission Line v3.6.3.5

Some minor updates:

  • Bug fix – When dragging the driver position the status used the wrong units.
  • Bug fix – Changing the driver position and pressing enter would not update the model.
  • Bug fix – Changing the stuffing density and pressing enter would not update the model.
  • When updating the stuffing value via the right click menu and selecting ‘custom’. This can now be entered in the users density unit preference rather than always kg/m³.

As always, if you have any queries, problems or requests please email them to us and we’ll try to help.

Note: I have had to use a new certificate to publish the software. This means that the update will be installed as though it is a fresh installation. Unfortunately this means you are likely to use any user settings (units, driver folder location etc.)

Transmission Line v3.6.3.4

The major update in this new version is the introduction ofa help file. The help-file is in pdf format and can be access via the Help menu. (The help file is also available online here)

There is also a new feature in the ‘Enclosure’ window. Click on the Wizard drop-down menu at the top of the window to quickly create some simple loudspeaker enclosures. These enclosures are based upon the currently selected driver and are a quick and easy starting point for an enclosure design.

Other minor updates:

  • The progress bar now resets to 0 upon completion rather than sitting on 100%
  • Auxillary windows are no longer always on-top.

As always, if you have any queries, problems or requests please email them to us and we’ll try to help.

Transmission Line v3.6.3.3

The major update in this new version is the re-introduction of the Tapped Horn feature.

To create a ‘Tap’ you simply need to click the “Tapped Horn” button at the top of the Enclosure Window. This will create the ‘Tap’ which will be displayed on the enclosure as a red circle (similar to the driver).

You can drag the Tap to any position in the same manner as moving the driver. You can also manually enter the Tap position.

Other minor updates:

  • When dragging the driver, it’s position is now displayed in the status bar.
  • The ‘Geometry Display’ window has been renamed to ‘Enclosure’ to match its name in the Window menu.

Transmission Line v3.6.3.2

The major update in this new version is a change to the stuffing model.

There is now more absorption at high frequencies and less at low frequencies. I have also made an attempt to correlate the stuffing density value to actual density figures. (i.e. you can input the stuffing in kg/m³, or lb/ft³ if you that way inclined ;). Improving the stuffing model is still very much an ongoing process but this should be a fairly significant upgrade in accuracy.

Other minor updates:

  • Added a decimal place to the graph cursor readout.
  • Fixed a bug where a branch on the very first element would be ignored.
  • Updated the Filter Window icon.

I hope these updates prove useful. If you have any queries, problems or requests please email them to us and we’ll try to help.

Transmission Line v3.6.3.1

The previous update introduced a Driver Position edit box on the Enclosure window in order to allow users to accurately enter the offset of a driver. However there was a bug in the code which meant that visually the driver moved but it wasn’t updated in the model.

The main purpose of this update was to fix this bug, which we have done.

We have also added 12dB/Octave and 24dB/Octave filters and as well as making a slight improvement to the radiation impedance calculation (more accuracy at high frequencies).

Transmission Line v3.6.3.0

The major change in this update is the addition of filters.

There is a Filter Window (accessible from the Window menu or with Ctrl+Alt+F ) where you can implement a Low-Pass and/or a High-Pass filter.  You can specify the Q and cut-off frequency of each filter. Both filters are currently 2nd order only (12dB/Octave).

Other minor updates:

  • Added a driver position edit box to the enclosure window.
  • Updated the tab order on all forms.
  • Updated the Icon Logo.

I hope these updates prove useful. If you have any queries, problems or requests please email them to us and we’ll try to help.

Transmission Line v3.6.2.0

This latest update allows the driver to be ‘dragged’ along the length of the transmission line allowing for quick modelling of off-set drivers.

We have had to remove the Tapped Horn feature to allow this, but judging from the amount of people that were asking for off-set drivers to be made easier this is a welcome exchange of features!

There is currently no way of telling how much the driver is offset (other than visually). An update is due shortly to implement this.

As always, if you experience any problems, do let us know and we will endeavour to fix them where we can.

Enjoy!
